This holiday season, the corporate office of Arcadia has partnered with the Judson Center to spread holiday cheer!
The Judson Center is a non-profit, human service agency located in Southeastern Michigan. They were founded in 1924 as the Baptist Children’s Home. Since then they have evolved into a comprehensive, multi-faceted, community based human service centre – one that has been nationally recognized for fostering independence through innovative programs, and for empowering children of all ages and their families to live the best lives possible.
The Judson Center specializes in child welfare, autism, behavioral health, and disability services. Visit their website www.judsoncenter.org for more information.
The Judson Center has six group homes located in Oakland County that provide a family-like unit with 24-hour care and supervision to adult men and women over the age of 18 with developmental disabilities. Arcadia has volunteered to host the Judson Center’s Annual Christmas party for their group home clients at their Royal Oak facility.
Corporate employees have been collecting food, gifts, supplies and decorations for this event since mid-November. Thanks to the generosity of the corporate office employees, thirty-two developmentally disabled clients, along with their caseworkers, will be treated to a home cooked meal of turkey and ham with all the fixings! Santa will be making a special delivery, bringing a stuffed stocking and gifts for each of the thirty-two clients.
In preparation of the Judson Center’s Christmas party, on December 6th the corporate office was converted to Santa’s Workshop! Our Stuff-a-Stocking and Gift-Wrapping event allowed employees who won’t be able to attend the actual event to participate in the festivities! Ribbons and bows were flying about when stockings were being stuffed and gifts being wrapped.
Arcadia’s corporate office employees are excited and honored to be a part of this holiday event.
